Welcome and thank you for visiting my website!

Hi, I am a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida. I study American Politics with specialties in political methodology & race, ethnicity and politics. My work is supported by from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, the Florida Education Fund McKnight Doctoral Fellowship and the Southeastern Conference Emerging Scholars programs.

My research aims to understand the lasting effects of minority political participation in the South (including voter registration, voter turnout and candidacy) and minorities’ roles in advancing American politics. I investigate this by studying differing levels of participation across demographically-similar localities over multiple decades.

I am a native South Carolinian! Prior to beginning my journey at Florida, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Winthrop University. When I am not working on, reading or thinking about politics, I spend my time traveling, volunteering, enjoying the Florida sunshine & binging podcasts!
